Facing problems with my 265WT GPSGarmin nüvi 265W/265WT 4.3-Inch Widescreen Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator with Traffic

Hello guys
I got my GPS yesterday, I faced many problems:-
1- Gave me wrong way to my home address, last road I have to take right but the GPS said left.
2- When my mobile connected with the GPS, the GPS lose the sound. Two three times happened with me.
3- I got a call while I am searching for address, the GPS got stuck and I had to turn it off to work again.
4- It is taking time to be turned on from the GPS switch.
5- Today I was in the downtown, the road was closed by police and this wasn't mentioned in the traffic of the GPS.
6- The GPS voice talk is talking in fats way so I can't get the roads names easly.
Is this normal???!!!!

Does the Nuvi 265wt have a built in traffic reciever?

I know the Nuvi 265w/265wt comes with the traffic reciever you plug into the unit that plugs into your ciggerett lighter but I am wondering if there is a unit that is just 265wt avaialable with a traffic reciever that is built into the unit available?

Thank you

You need to reword you question. It does not make sense. The traffic receiver is built in the 265wt, and the antenna is in the power cord, so you need the proper power cord.

Oh, the Nuvi 265w does not have the traffic function. Only the 265wt has it. It only works in certain cities. They are listed on Garmins web site.

I purchused, the 265WT through Amazon. The box says it's the 265WT but the unit itself says its the 265W. It came with the additional power cord. I beleive the reciever and antenna must both be in the power cord correct?

  TomTom550TM or Garmin 265WT

I can not make up my mind on which to get? Can anyone please help me out? I have read some Tomtom reviews for that model that are not so great. Plus the Garmin is on special at comp USA for 99.99 where the Tomtom is for 130.00 at Costco...

Thanks

Garmin is more reliable, I have Garmin Street Pilot that I bought 7 years ago. It still in good shape. A year ago, I bought a TomTom Go 510 and I am going to through it away. Its graphics are horrible and its battery completely died within one year. Now I am happy using my old Garmin StreetPilot 2610.

 Phone GPS vs, Garmin GPS
Benson says:
Just wondering if it's really worth the extra money to buy a GPS unit vs. using the GPS that's on my phone? $200 seems a lot for something that I sorta already have (minus the larger screen, voice prompts and search for landmarks). I've tested the GPS on my phone and it works well for getting from city to city or from "where I am" to a particular establishment (restaurant, library, etc.). However, I live in Colorado and I hike quite a bit throughout the year so finding a mountain (or the way out of a mountain) can be challenging. That's really the only big advantage I can see as well as the traffic alerts on this model (265 WT). Any ideas/thoughts?

Well, the GPS on the cell phone isn't free.

I have a LG enV Touch from Verizon, and to use the VZ Navigator, I have to pay 10 dollars extra for the service, plus 30 dollars extra for sending/receiving data package, that's a total value of 40 dollars a month! Most of cell phone require one year of contract, that's equivalent to 480 dollars a year for using the GPS feature on the cell phone.

For a flat rate of 200 dollars you can use the unit for a lifetime, or until it breaks, verse paying 40 dollars a month or 480 dollars a year, what would you pick as a better deal?

I have a Sony version of the Blackberry phone(carrier-Metro PCS, which incidentally I dont get charged for navigation use) it has a navigator. it does not work half as good as my Garman gps. It does not re-calculate to my liking. not as much info. as I get with the gps.
